Precious 04:04
the change you wish to see begins within the change you wish to be begins within when you fall fall to pieces then rise like the phoenix the thoughts you choose to think will shape your world the words you choose to speak will shape your world all that you see and all that you imagine pours from the mouth of the dragon as grandmother always said "speak love" as grandfather always said "you are precious" and the change you wish to be begins within

How do you perch upon the seat of your discomforts? how can you maintain a state of such disconcern? how can you sleep at night leaving your people to die? you're a cageless bird to purge the weight of stealing cuts from the loaf of the unlearned and the healing now you're a bird who flies without a friend in the sky watching you watching me with binoculars from the window the season to kill may come, til then i will savor the taste of the sun i watch you build another fence, n' i think "why can't we all be fed from the excess?" come the dying child of God, strewn up against the stars and a new moon some shining light pervades, explodes, and then it fades now imagine that child is you who's to say you left too soon, if you did what you had to do, with love and a gentle heart its a dying art Make it live again.

when no one is watching what is the story that you wish to write? when no one is listening what is the story that you wish to tell? what can you smell that I can't? when all your loved ones are crying and dying what is the medicine that only you can provide? what can you heal that I can't? and will you share? if time is a river and you feel like you're lost at sea what kind of song will you sing to yourself? and how does it sound?

Love’s the Answer - lyrics by Alexander Bissell If you add it all together After ev’rything is over As if looking for a number Hoping that will be the answer Add the times when you were sober (And the times you don’t remember) Add the times when you were master (And the times when you surrendered) Add the times when you felt horror (And the times when you felt wonder) Add the times when you were Luther (And the times when you wore leather) Still the list grows ever shorter As it’s multiplied by zero And your summer turns to winter As your body starts to shiver And although you’re trapped in amber There is something to consider To keep score here is to suffer For you’ll never outscore nature But if you can meet each creature With the courage to be tender (To yourself as well as others) Then your answer’s not a number.

a deer to the east a horse to the south coyote go west to the north, fly the owl as above the crow so below the buffalo as the raven within pulls at my skin where have all the humans gone? where to begin?

Optimist 06:14
if i don't like your opinion if i don't heed your advice if i walk my own stubborn path out of the safety of the lamplight take no offense pay me no mind and don't you worry where my path might lead or what I'm hoping to find cuz i am an optimist and I'm sure as hell that all is together and all is well I cup my hands in the water and i think of my mother i speak a prayer to the web of time and the ever graceful movement of the weaver then I look to the sky I whisper a lullaby that casts across the mountains and lands out of sight I am an optimist and I have no doubts that all is forgiven and what goes around comes around if you don't like my opinion (thats alright) if you don't like my advice (i don't mind) go on and walk your own crooked path just do what you feel is right (what do you hear on the inside?) I am an optimist you see this smile on my face? i know that our paths will meet in the same place yeah, I am an optimist and I'm sure as hell that all is together and all is well.
